About us
The Department of Economics provides instruction in microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance and accounting, business economics, banking and other economic disciplines within BEng, MEng and PhD degree programs. The department staff teaches in the English language for foreign students.
Research and grant activities of the department concentrate on the area of investments and introduction of modern production technologies, on international movement of capital, tax policy and tax burden in the Czech Republic and abroad. Since 2003 the Department of Economy, in cooperation with the Department of Management, organizes an international conference Hradec Economic Days which offers a great opportunity to present research in the fields of economy, business economics and management oriented towards the development of regions.
Due to intensive and fruitful cooperation with other Czech and foreign universities, companies and other academic and non-academic institutions, the instruction at the department is closely connected to practice throughout the whole period of studies.
