Academic Community Celebrates Inauguration of UHK’s Rector and Deans

Today, the University of Hradec Králové, as part of a formal Academia event, inaugurated its Rector and three Faculty Deans, who will represent the university and its faculties from 2024 to 2028.

  • Rector of the University of Hradec Králové: doc. RNDr. Jan Kříž, Ph.D. 
  • Dean of the Faculty of Education UHK: PhDr. Nella Mlsová, Ph.D. 
  • Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Management UHK: prof. Ing. Mgr. Petra Marešová, Ph.D., MBA 
  • Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK: RNDr. Alena Myslivcová Fučíková, Ph.D.

Rector of the University of Hradec Králové – doc. RNDr. Jan Kříž, Ph.D. 

 

Born in Hradec Králové, he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University. His work focuses on quantum mechanical systems, mathematical methods in physics, and engaging with talented youth in physics through the Physics Olympiad, including its international levels. He has extensive experience in university management, having served as Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK for two terms and previously holding the positions of Vice-Dean for Creative Activities and Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development. He is an active city councilor in Hradec Králové and strongly supports sports, especially ice hockey. He is married and has two children. 

 Nella Mlsová

Dean of the Faculty of Education UHK – PhDr. Nella Mlsová, Ph.D. 

 

Born in Hradec Králové, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, majoring in Secondary School Teaching of Czech Language and History. She later completed her doctoral studies in Czech Literature and Literary Theory at the same faculty. Since 1989, she has worked at the Department of Czech Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education UHK, where she led the Literary Section. Since 2021, she has been the head of the Department of Language and Literary Culture. She was Vice-Dean for Science, Research, and Art at the Faculty of Education and was the Dean's statutory deputy. She has authored numerous monographs, journal articles, and other academic works. Additionally, she co-authored the screenplay for the 1993 film Máňa and contributed to a series of literary dramatizations for Czech Radio. She enjoys reading, fine arts, classical music, and wandering in nature. One of her favorite countries is Italy, in all its diverse forms. She is married and has a son. 

Faculty of Education UHK

 Petra Marešová

Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Management UHK – prof. Ing. Mgr. Petra Marešová, Ph.D., MBA 

 

Born in Hradec Králové, she is a graduate of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, the University of Hradec Králové, the Technical University of Liberec, and Mendel University in Brno. She has been teaching economics and management at UHK since 2009. Her other professional interests include healthcare management, investment evaluation methods, and industry economics. Since 2020, she has served as Vice-Rector for Study and Quality at UHK. She enjoys spending time with her family and exercising in her free time. She is married and has three children. 

Faculty of Informatics and Management UHK

 Alena Myslivcová-Fučíková

Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK – RNDr. Alena Myslivcová Fučíková, Ph.D. 

 

Born in Brno, she graduated in Medical Bioanalytics from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Charles University in Hradec Králové. She completed her doctoral studies in Molecular Pathology at the Faculty of Military Health Sciences at the University of Defence in Hradec Králové. In addition to leading the Department of Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Science UHK, she also served as Vice-Dean for Strategy, Development, and Legislation. Since 2022, she has also been a member of the Rector's advisory body on sustainability. She specializes in mass spectrometry of proteins and microplastics research. She is also active in the Czech Army Reserve as a captain and enjoys climbing, volleyball, and mountain hiking. She is married and has a son.
