The regional round of the Festival of Science and Technology for Children and Youth took place on the grounds of the Faculty of Science UHK
The regional round of the Festival of Science and Technology for Children and Youth in the Hradec Králové Region, organized by the Association for Youth, Science and Technology (AMAVET), took place on March 23, 2023, at the Faculty of Science UHK.
Ondřej Krejcar, UHK Vice-Rector for Science and Creative Activities, praised the commitment of all project authors in his speech. Jan Kříž, Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK, continued by presenting the possibilities of studying at UHK and wished all the contestants successful presentations. The invitation to the ceremonial opening was also accepted by the deputy governor of the Hradec Králové region for education and sports, Arnošt Štěpánek.
This year's regional round was attended by 42 pupils and students with more than three dozen projects, which a committee of experts from all faculties of the University of Hradec Králové evaluated.
The results announcement was attended by representatives of UHK, who presented awards to the authors of the winning projects.
On behalf of the Faculty of Education UHK, Vice-Dean for Science, Research and Arts Nella Mlsová presented the award for the project entitled How to write a successful book, the author of which is Sofie Rambousková.
In the "High school student" category, the project of Štěpán Mészáros, Kryštof Stašek and Tomáš Neckar entitled Forgotten - Development and promotion of a computer game was awarded by the Vice-Dean for Study Affairs Tomáš Kozel from the Faculty of Informatics and Management UHK.
An expert jury from the Faculty of Science UHK selected the winning project of Justýna Jansová entitled The deadly dual epidemic of today – tuberculosis and HIV. Vice-Dean for Creative Activities Pavel Trojovský gave congratulations.
Tomáš Mangel, Vice-Dean of the Philosophical Faculty UHK for Science and Research, was happy to present the award to Anežka Hodková's project entitled Memories of my Grandparents or the History of My Family in Time, which focuses on history.
Vice-Rector Ondřej Krejcar presented the main prize of the University of Hradec Králové to a large-scale project called Microbiological load in households with and without animals, the author of which is Alena Bartošová.
