The University of Hradec Králové has received a prestigious quality mark. It was awarded the international HR Award by the European Commission
The University of Hradec Králové (UHK) is among the institutions that have been awarded the prestigious HR Award. This award is given by the European Commission in the field of human resources in the scientific environment.
"This is a great success for us and recognition of the several years of work we have devoted to the preparation and implementation of the project leading to this award. It is now formally confirmed that the UHK is and wants to be a quality and attractive employer meeting the highest European standards," says Pavlína Springerová, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development at the UHK. With this award, the UHK confirms its commitment to continuously strengthen and improve conditions in the field of human resources management in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. "In addition, the HR Award, the full name of which is the HR Excellence in Research, means a higher bonus for us when evaluating research projects and obtaining important grants in the field of science and research, which is another substantial bonus," adds Vice-Rector Springerová.
This is a great success for us and recognition of the several years of work we have devoted to the preparation and implementation of the project leading to this award. It is now formally confirmed that the UHK is and wants to be a quality and attractive employer meeting the highest European standards.
Over the next two years, the UHK will significantly improve the university-wide process of recruiting new domestic and foreign staff, improve the onboarding process or set up a quality mentoring programme, etc. Kamil Kuča, Rector of the University of Hradec Králové, enjoys the success: "These processes are quite common in modern scientific, research and educational institutions and are set up centrally to create an inspiring and transparent environment for, among other things, early career researchers. In 2020 alone, the University of Hradec Kralove had 130 foreign employees from all over the world, and the internationalisation of research is the way we want to go. This globally recognized quality certificate will certainly help us to attract more quality researchers from abroad, who can also choose their future place of work based on the HR Award."
Officials of the European Commission will now review the quality of the UHK excellence in this area in the first phase after two years, and then every three years thereafter.
