Development of intelligent electronic control system for specialized hospital beds for critically ill patients

The main objective of the project is to do research into and develop the electronic management system of a specialized hospital bed for critically ill patients, dominantly clients of the ICU departments. One of the basic concepts of an intelligent medical bed is realized through the intended system - it can adequately identify the risks of pressure ulcers, and it can suggest possible preventative measures in case of patients who have been in bed for a long time. After subsequent verifications realized by the attending staff, the bed can automatically implement these necessary measures. In the case of patients already hospitalized because of an identified risk of decubitus incidence, automatic anti-decubitisation measures can be directly applied.
