Dr. Alena Myslivcová Fučíková Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK
The Faculty of Science, University of Hradec Králové is pleased to announce the appointment of RNDr. Alena Myslivcová Fučíková, Ph.D., as the Dean of the Faculty of Science UHK. On July 1, 2024, she was appointed to this position by the new rector, Associate Professor RNDr. Jan Kříž, Ph.D., who has previously led the Faculty of Science UHK.
In her program for the 2024-2028 election period, Dr. Myslivcová Fučíková emphasized transparent leadership, the development of study programs, and the support of science and research. Her ambitions also include strengthening the faculty's role in sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
With the new dean comes a new team of vice-deans who will contribute fresh perspectives and new ideas. "I have assembled the team of vice-deans to fulfill my election program, to limit the accumulation of functions, give space to new colleagues, and at the same time maintain continuity in leadership," Dr. Myslivcová Fučíková comments on her team's selection.
The new faculty leadership comprises an experienced team of experts who, along with the dean, will be key figures in the development and strategy of the faculty. The team includes:
- Associate Professor PhDr. Michal Musílek, Ph.D., taking on the roles of statutory representative of the dean and vice-dean for Rducation and Internal relations.
- RNDr. Zuzana Kovalíková, Ph.D., stepping into the position of vice-dean for International Affairs.
- Associate Professor RNDr. Jiří Lipovský, Ph.D., the new vice-dean for Creative Activities.
- RNDr. Patrik Olekšák, Ph.D., appointed vice-dean for strategy, development, and legislation.
RNDr. Alena Myslivcová Fučíková, Ph.D., believes that together with her vice-deans, she can continue to create a faculty open to new ideas, collaborative, flexible, internally stable, and welcoming for both students and staff.
I believe this journey will be interesting and adventurous—in a positive sense,
We wish the new dean much success in her term. We are convinced that under her leadership, the Faculty of Science UHK will achieve many successes and changes that will enrich the academic and scientific life of the faculty.
