Immensely Attractive 15th Year of Let´s Play Using Your Brain

Every year, hundreds of science and technology enthusiasts look forward to the Let´s Play Using Your Brain event, which not only entertains but also educates. This year we celebrated the 15th year of this exceptional event and the theme, Immense Space Attraction, was literally otherworldly.

Let´s Play Using Your Brain, organized by the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science UHK, aims to bring physics and natural sciences, including chemistry, biology and mathematics, closer to the general public. Since the first year in 2008, this event has grown into the largest scientific popularization event of the Faculty of Science UHK and attracts more and more visitors every year.

This year's theme focused on cosmic as well as immense attraction, which was reflected in countless activities and experiments where visitors could explore different aspects of attraction through interactive experiments and inspiring lectures. On June 20 and 21, in the picturesque surroundings of the University of Hradec Králové campus, events full of science, accessible and interesting for all ages, took place. Visitors could see amazing experiments with liquid nitrogen, dry ice, thermal imager, sound and optics. There was magnetic levitation, rockets and robots of various shapes and sizes, as well as amazing chemical experiments. For the curious, stations were prepared where they could test their knowledge of animals and organs of the human body, or test their first aid skills.

But it wasn't just the mind that was engaged – this year we also played with the body! Obstacle courses, orienteering, and a planetary trail offered physical challenges that entertained visitors young and old. The whole event was also complemented by telescopes, which made it possible to observe the sun in all its beauty.

The 15th year of Let´s Play Using Your Brain was also dedicated to supporting animals from the ZOO parku Česká Skalice. Part of the program was a charity collection, for which visitors brought a lot of fruit, vegetables, and nuts. We are pleased that many of you joined, and we are already looking forward to supporting others together next year.

We must not forget the important partners of the event, without whom it would not have been possible. These included the Observatory, the Children and Youth Centre in Hradec Králové, the F.M. Pelcl Grammar School in Rychnov nad Kněžnou, the Čapek Brothers Primary School in Ústí nad Orlicí, the Bishop Grammar School of Bohuslav Balbín in Hradec Králové, the First Private Language Grammar School in Hradec Králové, the J.K. Tyl Grammar School in Hradec Králové, the Secondary Medical School in Hradec Králové, the Vocelova Secondary School, Vocational School Hradec Králové, and the Eurocentre. These institutions have been actively involved in the program and have contributed to its diverse content, significantly enriching the visitor experience. We would like to thank all our partners for their support and cooperation.

Let´s Play Using Your Brain has once again confirmed that science can be not only useful, but also extremely entertaining. We are eagerly awaiting next year's event and looking forward to further adventures in the world of science and technology.
