Unforgettable Summer (School) at University of Hradec Králové

This year's edition offered four diverse programs: Geometry and Topology, Applied Biology, Cybernetics Systems and Toxicology.

Gathering students from around the globe, the event served as an oportunity for knowledge deepening and broadening perspectives in these specialized fields.

During the summer school, students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences, including educational robotics, exploration of physical principles, fieldwork at the Natural Monument Na Plachtě (focused on high biodiversity maintained by targeted management), in-depth study of summer phytoplankton in local ponds, anatomical autopsy of animal hearts with pulmonary function tests, distillation of red wine, ecotoxicological biotests, spectroscopic measurement techniques applied to various samples, isolation and detection of caffeine and so much more.

As part of the program, guided trips were also organized. Students could explore the beauty of our region. We visited Hradec Králové, Kuks, the ZOO, Kutná Hora (one of the most important Czech royal cities. Its well-preserved urban area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Prague, which is both the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.

Ample free time was provided for students to embark on personal explorations, further immersing themselves in the charms of the Czech Republic.
