UHK Climbs Higher in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings
The University of Hradec Králové climbed higher in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR), making significant strides across several key categories. In this year’s evaluation, UHK ranked in the 1001st–1200th bracket globally (previous year 1201st–1500th), and among Czech universities, we are in shared 4th to 8th place out of 17 evaluated institutions.
"We are thrilled to see our university’s continuous growth and improvement in the international comparison as well as in the Czech Republic. This year’s ranking demonstrates the exceptional efforts of our academic staff and students in advancing UHK’s academic excellence. It also shows that the direction we set out before is right; we are on a path to further success! " said Hana Tomášková, Vice-Rector for Science, Research and Knowledge transfer.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings evaluate universities based on 18 performance indicators, grouped into five broad areas: Teaching (29.5%), Research Environment (29%), Research Quality (30%), International Outlook (7.5%), and Industry (4%). The ranking is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive and credible assessments of global higher education institutions.
"Our progress in all categories except for Industry speaks to UHK’s dedication to creating a robust and dynamic academic environment. We aim to continue pushing the boundaries and enhancing our global footprint. There is still space to grow and we intend to keep working together for the benefit of the whole higher education sector," added UHK Rector, Jan Kříž.
