IS/STAG, E-learning and mass e-mail
Furthermore we mention the functions of STAG with regard to the possibilities of distant teaching and communication:
- Mass email: within the portlet My classes – Mass e-mail, it is possible to easily send an email to a group of students with use of the tools to select this group according to different aspects; for the role of a teacher e.g. students of a specific course, students of a specific schedule, exam terms, topics or work etc. It is possible to combine the groups, ie.to gradually add three courses, an exam term and students registered for topics. It is possible to manually modify the resulting list of addressees, to either eliminate the addressees or also add the addressees, and thus even addressees not offered by the system - it is possible to introduce the address manually. The resulting list of candidates can be named and saved for further repeated use.
- E-learning support: IS/STAG UHK is connected to the Moodle server, the Moodle courses are called Activity in the IS/STAG. It enables teachers to create a course for a certain subject directly from the STAG portal (or it can be limited more specifically to students of a subject in a certain form of studies or a course just for a certain schedule activity). The STAG will then automatically assign the students registered to a subject and teachers to a course in their relevant roles.
- These automations can be used also for courses common for more subjects, the setting is slightly more complex here though and it is necessary to do it in native client. It is possible to assign more subjects to one Moodle course (Activity) and the STAG will automatically add students and lecturers. This unfortunately cannot be done directly by the lecturer, but by the role Department and Administration of subjects on the form EL0010 in native client. With regards to the situation multiple assignments can be done by the administrators. In case of STAG you can contact technical support at stag@uhk.cz.
Microsoft Teams
The Microsoft Company offers (within the provided Office 365) possibilities for distant teaching through Microsoft Teams, where students and lecturers can educate themselves, cooperate and communicate with each other. We will shortly introduce the key elements, details can be found in the attached PDF files.
- Education from anywhere. The educational content and assignments can be published online and the students can access them from any place. Using the application Microsoft Teams the students can access the educational content, cooperate with other students, communicate with lecturers and hand in the assignments. The lecturer can evaluate the students´ task and provide the student with a quick feedback.
- Online classrooms. The lecturers can make their classes available online and that enables them to share the presentation or content on a digital (interactive) whiteboard. Lecturers and students can interact using the application Microsoft Whiteboard, communicate through messages, calls or video calls.
- It is also possible to record the class and enable students to see it offline later.
- Live events. Thanks to the live events in the Microsoft Teams application you can realize live seminars with hundreds of students. The maximum number of connections is 10 000 participants. The participants can write their own questions that can be administered by moderators of the event.

Zoom combines video and audio conferences, simple on-line meetings and sending mass messages in one platform. Meetings through Zoom take place on mobile desktop devices and in conference rooms equipped by appropriate hardware. There can be one host and up to 300 participants in one meeting.
We have 60 ZOOM licenses that can be used for work and distant teaching. The basic account will enable to organize 40 minutes long meetings.
If longer meetings are needed you can ask for a license after logging in the application: Ing. Jan Flek, Ing. Radek Mrkus.
Safety aspects:
- Official statement of ZOOM with regards to current safety issues (zoom bombing, encryption, Facebook).
- Reflection of security experts "Zoom is not malware" on the server medium.
