The University of Hradec Králové is not just an educational institution. It is also a place of culture, constantly evolving thanks to our students. The university holds or co-organizes cultural and social events, be it art shows, orchestra and student ensemble concerts, and Academic Film Club movie screenings.

One of the most significant events is the UHK social evening, in which the Rector gives awards to exceptional students and academics. After the formal part of the evening, there usually is a concert by some of the most famous Czech musicians. Another top-rated event is the UHK Ball co-organized by students. The ball traditionally offers an almost festival mood.
