The Philosophical Faculty gained a new Erasmus + Cooperative Partnership project.
The University of Hradec Králové succeeded in its role as the coordinating institution with its application for the Erasmus + Cooperative Partnership project entitled "Enhancing Quality Teaching of Humanities and Social Sciences in Higher Education for 21+" (abbreviated SSHTeaching21 +). During the three-year project period, which started on November 1, the experts of the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové will, in cooperation with the Slovak University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra and the Polish Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, strive to improve the quality of the areas of humanities and social sciences.
The FF UHK succeeded while competing against 33 projects, out of which another 13 cooperative partnerships managed to receive the Erasmus+ grant, including another project carried out by the UHK. A team of experts from the FF UHK led by the Associate Professor Zdeněk Beran was responsible for obtaining the project. Colleagues from the Institute of History, the Department of Sociology and the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences will also be involved in creation of the project results. Employees of the International and Project departments will also participate in the project from the administrative point of view.
The project itself will focus on acquiring and deepening skills for use of modern didactic methods and principles in the teaching of humanities and social sciences in the higher education sector. The main goal will be to improve teaching of these study fields at universities by developing the skills of all employees involved in teaching in accordance with the demands of the labour market and today's society. This goal shall be achieved thanks to four main outpus of the project. The first two will be analyses examining the psychosocial and intercultural aspects of teaching allowing to identify essential findings, which will serve to further support the following output. This output will be a handbook that will offer an innovative methodology for teaching in the given fields. As part of the final output, this methodology will be adapted to digital form within e-learning, which will help its further dissemination. All results will be freely available, and the final one will be finished at the end of 2024. In relation with the presentation and verification of the key outputs, the University of Hradec Králové will organize an international professional conference in the second half of 2024.
