New Department of Psychology Launched at the Philosophical Faculty of UHK

The newly established Department of Psychology at the Philosophical Faculty, UHK, is the result of the faculty’s long-term strategic goal to create an academic base for a field that is increasingly in demand among both students and professionals. Currently, the department’s team is working intensively on accreditation applications for undergraduate and follow-up master’s programmes in psychology. If everything goes according to plan, the first students could begin their studies in about a year and a half. In the meantime, the department will be developing further activities and gradually becoming more involved in teaching across the faculty.

The department will also offer lifelong learning courses, which are being developed with the aim of providing high-quality and accessible psychological education to the wider public. These courses, open from September 2025, will be available both to professionals and to those without prior education in the field. More detailed information about the courses, their individual modules, and the application process will be published on our website.

In addition to its own teaching activities, the Department of Psychology will cooperate with other departments within the faculty and contribute to teaching in various study programmes. In this way, we aim to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.
