Language Centre

The Language Centre provides foreign language teaching for all departments and institutes of the Philosophical Faculty in full-time and part-time studies of Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programmes. The offered seminars contribute to the improvement of the language skills among students in order to prepare them for study stays (mobilities) at foreign universities in Europe, Latin America, Africa and other parts of the world.

The Centre offers English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, and Russian language courses, namely three levels of the Academic English and four levels of German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Arabic; German for specific purposes for the Department of Archival Studies; Spanish and French for Latin American and African studies. The Centre also enables students to take exams offered at the B1, B2 and B2+ levels in English, at the B1, B2 levels in German, French and Russian, and at the B1 level in Spanish.

Beyond compulsory education, we organize activities, which contribute to the establishment of a cosmopolitan student community, given the high number of international students from around the world coming to our Faculty, and promoting student mobilities. 

Last but not least, due to the international professional experience of the Language Centre academicians, the faculty's international cooperation has been broadened.
