Horizon 2020
The HORIZONT 2020 programme is the framework programme for EU research and innovation, valid for the period 2014-2020.
Horizont 2020 is open to all but it is necessary to follow its only set of simplified rules and procedures, which means that the participants can focus on what really matters: research, innovation and results. This clearly targeted approach ensures that new projects start up soon - and deliver results more quickly. The rules are designed to guarantee fairness, to protect the participants and to ensure that public money is spent appropriately.
The EU has identified seven priority challenges where investment targeted in research and innovation can truly manifest themselves and benefit citizens:
- Health, Demographic Change and Well-being
- Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Waterway Research and Bioeconomy
- Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy
- Smart, Green and Integrated Transport
- Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials
- Europe in a Changing World – Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Societies
- Secure Societies - Protecting Freedom and Security of Europe and its Citizens.
